Slow Resistance Training (SRT) Certification
Get Certified in Slow Resistance Training!
Transform your passion for modern movement into a fulfilling career.
Modern Reformer Training works closely with Slow Resistance Training (SRT) - the leading XFormer instructor certification program designed for those new to teaching or transitioning into reformer-based fitness.
SRT provides the essential foundation needed to begin teaching group reformer classes through a 3-day course with a Master Trainer. Their practical movement education gives instructors the full SRT exercise library and how to guide students through the reformer exercises.
At Modern Reformer Training, we extend that education through instructor mentorship, advanced coursework, and studio collaboration. Once you've completed your foundational SRT certification, MRT offers continued development focused on practical application, teaching refinement, expansive programming options, and professional growth.

I felt so inspired and confident in my ability as a Reformer Pilates Coach after training with Amanda! Her patience, positivity, and ability to break things down in a way that actually makes sense took all the anxiety out of being on the mic and creating routines. She focuses on how to prioritize movements when building routines so they’re effective, balanced, and intentional. If you're interested in becoming a Pilates instructor, looking for a mentor to refine your group fitness coaching, or just wanting to level up your own practice, Amanda is it!
Amanda and I both came from a classically trained background and found our way to SRT. Having the opportunity to learn from and alongside Amanda was such a gift. Her depth of knowledge, intuitive teaching style, and genuine care for every person in the room continually inspired me. She leads with grace, confidence, and warmth, qualities that make her not only an incredible instructor, but also a phenomenal mentor and friend. Watching the way she connects with her clients and helps them discover joy in movement reminded me why I fell in love with Pilates in the first place. So much of falling in love with movement is the community you do it with. Outside of her depth of knowledge and talent as an instructor and mentor, Amanda embodies the...
Amanda is amazing! She’s so attentive and truly passionate about movement. She’s incredibly knowledgeable about the body and the methods she teaches, so I always feel safe and confident trying new things and pushing myself in her classes. As a trainer of the method, she’s always available, super supportive, and gives such thoughtful, intentional feedback. There are no dumb questions with Amanda - she genuinely wants you to learn and grow, and always goes out of her way to help. Couldn’t recommend her more!
I absolutely love taking Pilates with Amanda! As a beginner, I was a little nervous at first, but she always made me feel completely comfortable and confident in class. She takes the time to help you perfect your form, explains everything clearly, and creates such a positive, empowering atmosphere. I always leave her classes feeling stronger and more energized. Highly recommend Amanda, she’s truly the best!
Amanda consistently created an encouraging and empowering environment that made me feel capable in every class. She has a wonderful ability to challenge us to trust our bodies without ever being overbearing, striking the perfect balance between motivation and mindfulness. I appreciated how she always tailored her cues and modifications to meet the needs of both beginners and more experienced clients in the same session. Her classes left me feeling stronger, more confident, and genuinely supported in my progress.
Amanda was fundamental in supporting my success as an SRT instructor, but also heavily influenced my current classical Pilates training. I learned so much from Amanda between anatomy and biomechanics, but also how to be a better leader in group fitness. She trained me on how to complete and instruct various exercises, modifications for all populations, and how to create effective flows. If Amanda hadn’t stepped in to manage my team I don’t think I would have succeeded at my previous studio, and I would not have had confidence in pursuing a classical Pilates education. I think if we had originally been trained by Amanda, she would have ensured everyone had a foundational understanding of of anatomy and biomechanics. The training I was...
Amanda is one of the best instructors I have taken class with before! She is always willing to help and her classes are amazing. She is one of the main reasons I continued loving pilates!
So much can be said about how incredible Amanda is. It’s one thing to know your craft, but something truly special to know how to teach it to others and Amanda embodies that rare gift. She played a pivotal role in my Pilates training, offering not only her deep expertise but also thoughtful guidance and tangible feedback that elevated my learning experience. Her communication style is clear, encouraging, and empowering, allowing space for growth and creativity while maintaining high standards of technique. Beyond my training, Amanda has continued to be a trusted mentor and friend. She is always available to brainstorm, offer advice, or share her insight. Her value is immeasurable, and I could not recommend her more highly.
Amanda is so knowledgeable about the body in and of its self and does a great job of sharing that knowledge in easy to understand ways. She also does a fantastic job at articulating her words and giving valuable feedback that is easy to digest and incorporate into instructing. Amanda is also incredibly organized and willing to go above and beyond to ensure you’re satisfied and understanding what is being taught. Because Amanda has such a wide knowledge her feedback is what I really valued from working with Amanda. She did such a great job giving feedback that was elaborate but also easy to incorporate quickly. She also ensured that even though you had things to work out she would tell you what was going well too. Her feedback was never...
Amanda gave me all the support and encouragement to feel like I could do modern Pilates. She was my first instructor & I was SO out of shape, not even being able to get into a plank. I continued going to her classes, and kept getting stronger all thanks to her good energy, support, & modifications!! Now I’ve attended almost 400 classes all bc Amanda helped me feel like I was in the right place. 💕
